Prominent businessman and former public representative Moshiur Rahman Ripon has been unanimously re-elected as President of the Rotary Club of Sreemangal for the 2026-27 Rotary year. Bikul Chakraborty, the Moulvibazar correspondent for Ekushey Television and bdnews24.com, as well as General Secretary of the Sreemangal Upazila Press Club, has also been unanimously re-elected as General Secretary.

The formal collar handover ceremony took place last night at the Rotary Club of Sreemangal Conference Hall. The club's First President, Rotarian Sirajul Islam Chowdhury, and President-Elect Rotarian Dr. Satyakam Chakraborty officially handed over the presidential and secretary collars to the newly elected office bearers. Other club members were present at the ceremony.

Earlier, a gathering was held at the Rotary Campus office on College Road in Sreemangal. The meeting was chaired by newly elected President Moshiur Rahman Ripon, while General Secretary Bikul Chakraborty conducted the proceedings.

Among those who addressed the gathering were senior Rotarian and tea planter Sirajul Islam Chowdhury, Rotarians Monowar Hossain Milon, Sajjadur Rahman Chowdhury, Naeem Sarfaraz, Atiqul Ambia Sumon, Liton Paul, Imon Dev Chowdhury, Subrata Das, Abdul Hamid, and journalist Shamim Akhtar Hossain.

It is noteworthy that Moshiur Rahman Ripon and Bikul Chakraborty also served as President and General Secretary, respectively, during the 2025-26 Rotary year. In recognition of their successful leadership, effective organizational management, and humanitarian initiatives, the club members unanimously re-elected them to the same positions.

Speaking after his re-election, President Moshiur Rahman Ripon said, "Rotary is a humanitarian organization. With the sincere support of our members, we will implement more effective and community-oriented initiatives in education, healthcare, environmental protection, and humanitarian service during the coming Rotary year."

General Secretary Bikul Chakraborty said, "Being entrusted with this responsibility once again by our members has strengthened my sense of duty. Together with everyone, I will continue working to further expand and strengthen Rotary's ideals and humanitarian activities."
