PM to open Agargaon-Motijheel metro rail operations on October 20
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday announced that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the metro rail services on the Agargaon-Motijheel route in Dhaka on October 20.
The minister informed reporters of the development at the Secretariat today.
Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Uttara-Agargaon segment of metro rail on December 28 and the following day the electric overhead city train service was open to public.
The project work started on June 26, 2016. It is being implemented at an estimated cost of Tk 334.72 billion with the financial and technical assistance from Japan government. The total project is scheduled to end in 2025.
