Euro Asia Curry Awards debut in Bangladesh
Euro Asia Curry Awards debut in Bangladesh
The popular Euro Asia Curry Awards, widely recognised across Europe, are set to be held in Bangladesh for the first time.
The announcement was made at a press conference on 30 April in Sylhet by Sharif Khan, a Bangladeshi-origin international hotel developer and the founder of the awards.
He said the awards have been presented in the UK for the past decade, recognising creativity and excellence in the Asian curry industry. The event has previously been attended by members of the British royal family, along with senior government officials.
This year, the awards ceremony will take place in Bangladesh in December. Entrepreneurs from the curry industry will have the opportunity to participate across various categories and showcase their creativity.
A panel of both national and international judges will serve on the jury board during the event.
Sharif Khan noted that the curry industry has expanded significantly across Europe, offering wide opportunities for entrepreneurs and skilled workers to get involved.
Organisers believe the awards will also play an important role in creating pathways for skilled professionals and entrepreneurs from Bangladesh to enter the European curry industry.
Hotel Metro International in Sylhet will be supporting the event as a sponsor.
The organisers added that registration and promotional activities for the awards will begin shortly.
