London, UK: The official unveiling ceremony of two poetry collections by young Bangladeshi poet Jannatul Ferdous Doly was successfully held during the 14th Bangladesh Book Fair in London, organized by Sommilito Sahitya O Sangskritik Parishad Juktorajya.

The two-day book fair took place on 27–28 June at the Brady Arts & Community Centre in London. The event was presided over by the organization's President, Muhammad Iqbal, while General Secretary Uday Shankar Durjoy coordinated the overall programme.

The unveiling ceremony for Doly's two poetry collections, Obak Kora Aaj (Astonishing Today) and Moner Simana Nei (The Mind Knows No Boundaries), was held at 3:30 pm on 28 June. The event was attended by her husband, Md. Alam, along with distinguished personalities from the fields of literature, journalism, and culture.

Among the notable guests were Muhammad Shahed Rahman, President of the UK Bangla Reporters Unity and Special Correspondent of Bangla Mirror; writers and journalists Abdul Kadir Chowdhury Murad and Matiar Chowdhury; former President of the UK Bangla Reporters Unity Professor Sajidur Rahman; current Vice President S.K.M. Ashraful Huda; Chief Treasurer of Sommilito Sahitya O Sangskritik Parishad Juktorajya Hena Begum; Assistant Treasurer Nurunnabi Ali; Assistant Secretary Smriti Azad; Executive Committee Member and poet Asma Matin; as well as many other prominent members of the literary, cultural, and social communities.

Expressing her feelings at the ceremony, Jannatul Ferdous Doly said that her love for literature and creative writing began in childhood. Inspired by her elder sister, Nazmin Chowdhury Hiya, she developed a regular writing habit and has continued her literary journey despite the responsibilities of family life.

She explained that her first poetry collection, Obak Kora Aaj, reflects themes of patriotism, social awareness, protest, and contemporary realities. Her second collection, Moner Simana Nei, portrays the emotions of expatriate life, humanity, limitless love, and a deep attachment to her homeland through poetic expression.

Jannatul Ferdous Doly has already established herself as a promising contemporary Bengali poet. Besides poetry, she is actively involved in songwriting, English poetry, and literary translation. Her writings frequently explore patriotism, humanity, love, loneliness, resistance, expatriate experiences, and social realities.

Born in Sunamganj in February 2001, Doly is the daughter of Md. Abdul Wadud and Jesmin Akter. Alongside her literary pursuits, she is also engaged in journalism and currently serves as the Organising and Training Secretary of the UK Bangla Reporters Unity.

The 14th Bangladesh Book Fair brought together poets, writers, researchers, journalists, publishers, cultural activists, and book lovers from London and various cities across the United Kingdom. Featuring new book launches, literary discussions, author-reader interactions, and cultural performances, the event celebrated the richness of the Bengali language and literature while highlighting the active role of the Bangladeshi diaspora in preserving and promoting its literary heritage.

The publication and unveiling of Jannatul Ferdous Doly's two new poetry collections was widely appreciated by literature enthusiasts and regarded as a significant contribution to enriching Bengali literature among the Bangladeshi community in the United Kingdom.
