9544 candidates will attend GST Admission test in SUST

The GST admission test organized for the 3rd time with total of 22 general and technical universities of the country is going to start on May 20. As a cluster university, 9544 students from Sylhet region will participate in science, commerce and humanities units at Shahjalal Science and Technology University Centre.

Mahbubul Hakim, member secretary of the admission committee for the academic year 2022-23, confirmed the matter during an exchange of views with journalists last Monday (May 15).

He said that this year, 3 lakh 3 thousand 232 people are taking part in the batch admission test in 'A' (Science), 'B' (Humanities) and 'C' (Commerce) sections across the country. Among them 1 lakh 66 thousand 933 students in 'A' (Science) unit, 96 thousand 544 students in 'B' (Humanities) unit, and 39 thousand 864 students in 'C' (Commerce) unit.

Dr Mahbubul Hakeem said that 9 thousand 544 students will participate in the examination at SUST center. Out of this, 2 thousand 561 students are participating in 'B' unit on May 20. The examination will be held at Shikshabhaban A, B, C and D of the university.

Apart from that, 944 students will participate in 'C' unit on May 27 and 6 thousand 39 students will participate in 'A' unit on June 3, he said.

At that time, the president of the admission committee, Prof. Dr. Swapan Kumar Sarkar informed about the overall preparation. We have formed various sub-committees to complete it properly and beautifully. Transportation, media, hotline services for admissions are now available.

Besides, he sought everyone's cooperation so that no complications arise in the admission test.
