New Zealand: Strong earthquake of magnitude 7.1 hits
A terrible earthquake hit the Pacific island nation of New Zealand. According to USGS, its magnitude is 7.1 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake struck at 6:41 a.m. Bangladesh time on Monday. The depth of the earthquake that hit the country's Kemeradik island was only 10 km from the surface.
Meanwhile, the USGS also said that another earthquake of magnitude 5.4 struck within a few minutes of the strong earthquake.
