UK Bangladeshi Solicitors Meet Bangladesh AG

A delegation of The Society of British Bangladeshi Solicitors (SBBS) led by its President, Mohammad Nurul Gaffar, met the Honourable Attorney General of Bangladesh and Chairman of the Bangladesh Bar Council, Barrister Ruhul Kuddus Kazal, on Monday, 20 July 2026, in London.

The delegation conveyed their heartfelt congratulations to Mr Kazal on his well-deserved appointment as the country’s highest legal officer. During the meeting, Mr Kazal attentively heard the SBBS members’ proposals, including creating easier pathways for practising UK solicitors to obtain rights of audience as Advocates in Bangladesh, as well as establishing an advocateship enrolment examination centre in London.

The Honourable Attorney General assured the delegation that these proposals would be given positive consideration, including amendments to relevant laws where necessary. He also commended the commitment and enthusiasm of British-Bangladeshi legal professionals in contributing their expertise towards the development of Bangladesh’s legal system.

The SBBS expressed its sincere gratitude to the Honourable Attorney General and looks forward to meaningful progress in strengthening the legal sector and justice system in Bangladesh under his leadership. There was also strong optimism about fostering collaborative initiatives between the SBBS and the Bangladesh Bar Council during his tenure.
