Sreemangal’s Sharforaj Ahmed Appointed BCB Director
Sharforaj Ahmed
The election for the Executive Board of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been completed. A total of 23 directors have been finalized for the next four-year term, including 15 elected directors and 8 who were elected unopposed. However, two positions on the 25-member BCB Board of Directors remain reserved for nominations from the National Sports Council (NSC).
For these two positions, the National Sports Council (NSC) has nominated Sheikh Ruhul Amin and Sharforaj Ahmed as directors. As a result, Sarfaraz Ahmed, a distinguished son of Sreemangal in Moulvibazar district, has become a director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Sharforaj Ahmed has long been involved in various social and political activities. He currently serves as the Coordinator of the Coco Memorial Trust, an organization established in memory of the late Arafat Rahman Coco. A businessman by profession, Sharforaj Ahmed is also actively involved in BNP politics.
The appointment of Sreemangal native Sharforaj Ahmed as a BCB director has already generated considerable discussion within local sports and political circles. Stakeholders hope that his new role will contribute significantly to the development and advancement of cricket in Bangladesh.
