Sreemangal Hosts First Chayer Janapod Creator Awards

The final award ceremony of the inaugural Chayer Janapod Content Creator Awards 2026 was held in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar, marking the first event of its kind in the region. The ceremony took place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday (July 3) at the Sreemangal Upazila Parishad Auditorium, where winners in different categories received awards. Around 70 shortlisted and participating content creators were also honored for their contributions.

The chief guest at the event was Md. Ziaur Rahman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Sreemangal. The program was chaired by journalist and cultural activist Palash Chowdhury.

Among those who addressed the audience were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohibullah Akon, Sreemangal Upazila BNP Convener Nurul Alam Siddiqui, Joint Convener Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury Tuhin, former Sreemangal Municipal BNP President Md. Mosabbir Ali Munna, Interim Convener of the Sreemangal Press Club Syed Abu Jafar Salauddin, and physician Dr. Nazim Al Qurashi Rafat, along with other distinguished guests.

According to the organizers, online registration for the Chayer Janapod Content Creator Awards 2026 was open from January 25 to February 5. After a verification process, finalists were announced in several categories. Online voting was held from 5:00 p.m. on May 2 to 6:00 p.m. on May 6, and based on the voting results, 11 winners were selected across five categories.

In the Nature and Lifestyle category, the winners were Yusuf Shahriar, Md. Al Amin Islam, Fahim Ahmed, Roksana Afrin Shimu, Tanvir Ahmed, Shishir Dhar, Radian Hossain, and Md. Shahid. Dip Chakraborty won in the Entertainment and Comedy category, while Kazi Faisal Ahmed Riyad was named the winner in the Food and Recipe category. Md. Farhan Tanvir Fahim received the award in the Others category.

Alongside awards and commemorative plaques, the organizers distributed saplings of jackfruit, black plum (jamun), neem, and krishnachura (royal poinciana) trees among guests, winners, and participants to promote environmental awareness. The initiative was widely appreciated by those in attendance.

The chief organizer, Md. Tofayel Ahmed (Pappu), Editor and Publisher of Chayer Janapod, said the local digital media platform has long been promoting the positive stories, heritage, tourism, and potential of Sreemangal to audiences at home and abroad. He explained that the awards were introduced to encourage positive, informative, and creative content creators on social media. He also noted that the overwhelming response to the inaugural event has inspired plans to organize the awards on a larger scale in the future and make them a regular annual event.

At the end of the ceremony, guests described the initiative as timely and positive, urging the organizers to continue it in the coming years. Participating content creators also said the recognition would serve as a major source of inspiration for their future creative work.
