Marking 14 years of promoting local band music, the Sreemangal Band Association (SBA) hosted its annual concert, SBA VOL-11, in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar. The event was held on Friday (July 3) at 3:30 PM at the Zila Parishad Auditorium, bringing together local musicians and hundreds of music enthusiasts in a vibrant celebration of live band performances.
This year's edition featured performances by ten local bands representing a variety of musical styles. The participating bands were Thrill, Prohor, Mingal, Wee, Avro, Betel Leaf, Unity Musical Band, Sector 3, Bohipir, and Driftline. Each band entertained the audience with energetic performances of their popular songs.
According to the organizers, the Sreemangal Band Association (SBA) began its journey in 2012 with just six bands and has since grown into one of the leading platforms for band music in Sreemangal. Over the past 14 years, the organization has provided performance opportunities to more than 400 emerging and established musicians. SBA currently consists of 17 member bands.
SBA General Secretary Pritom Dev said, "This is not just a concert. It is a collective effort to preserve Sreemangal's band music culture, encourage young musicians, and strengthen the local music scene."
The first SBA Band Festival (Vol-1) was held on February 14, 2012, at the BGB Border Spandan Ground in Sreemangal, featuring six bands: Swadesh, Anuron, Thrill, Hailstrom, Mukhosh, and Shada-Kalo. What began as a small-scale music event has evolved into one of the region's most recognized and popular platforms for band music after 14 years of continuous success.
