The Voice of Bletchley: Tanjila Sufi

Tanjila Sufi

Tanjila Sufi

Tanjila Sufi is a determined and community-driven individual, born and raised in Camden Town, London, with her roots in Moulvibazar, Bangladesh. Her entire journey—from education to professional life—has been shaped in London. She currently serves as a dedicated NHS worker, contributing to the well-being of the community.

About seven years ago, after her marriage, she made Milton Keynes her permanent home. Today, she lives in Bletchley with her husband, son, and daughter. Moving to a new area did not limit her to family life alone; instead, she actively engaged with the local community.

Since settling in Bletchley, Tanjila Sufi has become a familiar and supportive presence for many residents. Her commitment to helping people, improving the community, and building a better future for the next generation has been clear and consistent. This dedication naturally led her into mainstream politics.

In the 2026 local elections, she is standing as a Labour Party candidate for the position of Councillor from Bletchley West Ward. Her candidacy represents more than personal ambition—it reflects a meaningful step toward stronger representation for the community.

Her connection to Moulvibazar has also brought pride and joy to people from that region. Her mother, Hena Begum, is a well-known figure in London’s community—host of the “Sylheti Adda” program on Ion Television, Joint General Secretary of the UK Online Press Club, and Treasurer of a literary and cultural organisation.

Tanjila Sufi’s journey is a source of inspiration. She demonstrates that with commitment, sincerity, and hard work, it is possible to move from community service into leadership.

Let us all keep her in our thoughts and support her in strengthening representation for future generations.
